A MESSAGE FROM REV. LINDSEY ALTVATER CLIFTON: FINDING OUR WAY

Greetings, friends!

We continue our Easter celebrations all the way to Pentecost (May 24).  The Eastertide season, these 50 days from Easter through Pentecost, invites us to consider what it means to be people of the resurrection.

It can sometimes feel disorienting to keep celebrating resurrection and new life as the world spins madly on – wars rage, poverty ensnares, waters rise and the planet warms – but we still proclaim that Divine Love has the final word.  These competing realities can make us feel like we’ve lost the plot and can’t find our way.

This Sunday, I’ll offer an invitation into this both/and experience of wilderness as a prelude to a sermon series which Karen will begin next week (Sunday,
April 19) called The Wilderness: A Journey Towards Hope.  The vision for this series is to help us embrace the ways in which seasons of disorientation and change can still inspire us and deepen our faith as Easter people.

Wherever the path leads, it is good to journey together!

Blessings,
Pastor Lindsey
