Unity in Christ, Diversity in Community
First Presbyterian Church Bethlehem strives to be a warm, inclusive, and devoted community unified not by political bent or theological distinctions, but by a common, passionate love of Jesus Christ and the salvation He promises.
Please consider yourself warmly invited to join us in celebration of God's love!
As an inclusive Christian community. We engage our hearts and minds to …
> Love and worship God, and love one another as God loves us.
> Study Scripture and its many interpretations, to prayerfully discern God’s will for humankind, to question, inspire, and grow our faith, and to understand God’s individual call for each of us.
> Connect with one another in koinonia, Christian fellowship characterized by honest, generous sharing, and a deep commitment to nurturing spiritual growth as individuals and as a community.
> Share freely our gifts of time, talent, and treasure to support First Presbyterian Church Bethlehem and its mission to translate God’s call to us into action.
> Follow Jesus’ example of compassion and service to all by erasing barriers that divide and reaching out in love within and beyond our faith community.
With a history of more than 140 years, the congregants of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem have tender regard for our faith traditions, particularly in worship, koinonia, and mission, yet we hear God's call to move beyond what we've known.
We are examining new aspects of worship, and new connections and types of study to grow spiritually. We are seeking to engage more fully in community partnerships, when previously we've tended to serve others by ourselves. Our future call is to be intentionally inclusive, responsive to multi-generations, united in Christ, and to encourage more ways to live out Christ's call to make disciples, within and outside our walls.
We want the congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem to have strong faith in Christ's love for all mankind, and to eagerly welcome anyone seeking to better know the gracious God revealed through Jesus Christ.
