Serve Day, an intergenerational day of local mission engagement with our community, will be Saturday, May 6. It is a great opportunity to work with our local mission partners and build relationships with our church family. Make plans now to serve alongside your brothers and sisters in Christ.


Childcare is available for Serve Day 2017 from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  If you are in need of childcare so that you may serve out in the community on Saturday, May 6, please email Beth Peters-Ferrara with the names and ages of your children no later than May 1, 2017.


Once you have looked through all the available sites and have decided where you would like to volunteer for the day, go to our sign up genius, click here.

On the Signup Genius site, place a check in the “Sign Up Box” for the site you are interested in volunteering with. Bethlehem Parks & Recreation's mission is to provide locations and resources throughout the valley for healthy family recreational activities. Join us to beautify the outdoor landscaping and grounds at a site that is still TBD.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Club is to enable all young people especially those who need us most to reach their full potential and productive, caring, responsible individuals.  Site work is still TBD.

Breaking Bread Relief is out South Side Bethlehem Mobile outreach which provides food, hygiene supplies, hats, gloves, fellowship and prayer to our South Side neighbors.

The mission of the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley is to improve the quality of life by building a community in which all people have access to economic opportunity, the ability to pursue that opportunity, and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.  

We have a great opportunity to join CACLV in their outreach to the Southside of Bethlehem.  Weather permitting, we will be performing outdoor work maintaining the Greenway and improving other public spaces to support multiple Southside events.  This is a great way to say that we care for the community while meeting neighbors in the Southside of our city.

The Mission of Carenet is: Acknowledging that every human life begins at conception and is worthy of protection, Care Net offers compassion, hope, and help to anyone considering abortion by presenting them with realistic alternatives and Christ-centered support through our life-affirming network of pregnancy centers, organizations, and individuals.

Volunteers at this site will be working to help clean up around the outside of the school for the children to have a safe environment while playing outside during recess in the spring weather!  Activities are still TBD.

Help with sprucing up the garden areas on the outside of the school.  Clean and mulch both the upper and lower sites.  If volunteers are able to bring wheel barrows, tarps, old sheets, pitch forks, shovels, rakes, diggers, weed pullers, gloves and garbage bags that would be wonderful!  Both school staff and students will be volunteering alongside the FPCB volunteers to take pride in their school!

At Habitat for Humanity we’ll be helping with clean-up and work at the restore.

Minimum Age requirement: age 16 years old, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Hispanic Center’s mission is to improve the quality of life of Hispanic and other families by empowering them to become more self-sufficient, while promoting an intercultural understanding in the Lehigh Valley. 

Activities at this site will include restocking shelves or sorting delivered goods in the storage area.

Volunteers for these sites will be leading a Hymn sing and short Bible Study/time of devotion.

This group will work to make hats, scarfs, and anything warm that can be used for the winter months with FPCB’s Breaking Bread Relief Ministry.

Volunteers at this site will be sorting, organizing and getting items ready for the Great South Side Sale which takes place on the first Saturday on June.

We will be working to beautify the grounds of Marvine Elementary school through mulching, planting flowers, and cleaning up around the front area of the building.

The mission of New Bethany Ministries is to create opportunities for a secure future for the homeless, hungry, poor and mentally ill of the Lehigh Valley.  Volunteers at this site will prepare a meal and serve to those who are residents or clients of New Bethany.

Northeast Ministries looks for volunteers to spend time with the children from 10-12pm.  A light snack/meal is provided along with a time for Bible Story, games, and a craft.

This site is still a work in progress and is looking for a site leader!  Volunteers would make visits to those served by Share Care during the Serve Day hours.  A car would be needed for volunteers to work at this site.

Transforming women from the inside out by confronting life issues through support, education and advocacy.

Site One: My Sister's Closet
Participants would steam clothing, do some spring cleaning, and maybe even a decorating project.

Site Two: Truth for Women 5K Run
Participants would help with registration and supporting the 5K participants.
Location: Upper Saucon Township Community Park, 3231 Preston Lane, Center Valley

Minimum Age Requirement:  16 years old. Under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.


Volunteers at this site would help with yard work, clean out flower beds, rake, trim bushes, etc.  The site will supply the flowers and mulch.  They also have an edge trimmer and weed whacker.  Participants are encouraged to bring rakes, hedge trimmers, small pruners, and small garden shovels.

Victory House is a non-profit community-based organization committed to addressing the problems of homeless men–veterans and non-veterans between the ages of 18 and 65.

Westminster Village is a Continuing Care Retirement Community that provides people 55 and older with the resources they need to create truly fulfilling lives.

This year FPCB will be hosting the Westminster Village Clothing Sale in Fellowship Hall!  Volunteers are needed to help organize, sell and restock clothing throughout the sale.
