Behind the Scenes at the Creative Arts Office: Paul Ney

Meet our intern, Paul Ney!

As an intern this summer, what projects are you looking forward to completing this summer?

I’m super excited to work on a lot of music production related projects this summer with the creative arts team.  I think we’re starting to come up with a lot of cool ideas and expect some awesome things to be happening in the upcoming months.  We just finished up a recording that will be a part of our promo for Musikfest and you can download it now!

How did you first get involved with The Oasis Band?

Music has been a part of my life for a long time.  As you can see, I started playing piano at quite a young age.  I took piano lessons for eight years and then switched to the electric guitar when I reached high school.  I primarily taught myself to play and then got involved with the high school worship team for SNL.  After gaining experience leading worship for the youth group I then began to start playing with the Oasis band.

What is your favorite song that you play with The Oasis Band, and why?

I don’t necessarily have a favorite song; I love so many of them.  I love a lot of the new music from Bethel and Hillsong that we do.  Letting the spirit lead is one of my favorite ways to lead worship.  I cherish the spontaneous moments where God works in powerful ways through music.

When you are not working at the church what do you like to do?

I am a huge sports guy and I love baseball.  I am a die hard New York Mets fan and I watch every inning of every game.  I’m pretty obsessed… I love talking baseball and sports and general, so don’t hesitate to come talk to me!
