Ham Loaves

This month our recipe comes from Joan Glover, Ham Loaves. It’s a recipe that the women at her home church made for church suppers, a memory that she would like to share with others here at FPC Bethlehem.

Combine the following 5 ingredients as if making meatloaf.

3 lbs. ground ham

1 lb. ground pork

3 beaten eggs

2 c. graham cracker crumbs

1 1/2 c. milk

Sauce (Combine and heat in a medium saucepan)

1 can tomato soup

1/2 c. vinegar

1/2 c. water

1 tsp. dry mustard

2 c. brown sugar

Each loaf should be about a 1/2 c. measure to yield 16-18 loaves. Let loaves touch each other in the pan(s) during baking. Heat sauce and pour over loaves then bake for 1 hour at 350. You can spoon the sauce over the loaves about halfway through baking. Also spoon sauce over the loaves when serving. The sauce has a 'sweet and sour' taste. Oh yum!
