FALL FAITH FESTIVAL: October 24-27, mount bethel, pa
For more than 30 years, FPC Bethlehem family and friends have left their frenzied fall schedules behind for a few days of spiritual growth and relaxation. During the Fall Faith Festival’s inaugural years, participants traveled to quintessential New England to a retreat center in New Hampshire. Now, this retreat is held within one hour from Bethlehem at the Tuscarora Inn & Conference Center, a Christian conference center located in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains in Mt. Bethel, PA. This delightfully quaint conference center sits just across the road from the Delaware River and offers open invitations to spend time outside—delight in the colors of autumn, sit on the deck near the river, or doze in the sun on chairs placed about the property. Inside lounge areas reminiscent of our own homes invite us to curl up in a cozy corner to read, journal, or reflect. And coffee and tea are always available.
This year, we welcome Rev. Dr. Manuela Kauer as our Spiritual Leader for the Festival Retreat. Manuela will take us Walking with God as she shares from her journey on the El Camino de Santiago in Spain.
We begin our Fall Festival Retreat with lunch on Monday, October 24 and end with Communion and lunch on Thursday, October 27. In between, you will be served three plentiful meals a day plus snacks to assure that no one goes hungry. In addition to a daily time with Manuela and participation in a small group, you will have options for book discussion, light exercise, and massages. Evenings offer an Opening Night Special, a movie, and an evening of laughter as you view what the FFF Committee has prepared for your amusement. During the days, take walks along the Delaware River or within the grounds of Tuscarora. Take time for reflection, play games, or, even, nap. Join others in the dining room for lively conversation and laughter, day or night. There is also a room for Prayer Is..., transported to Tuscarora and set up for our round-the-clock use while there. And, every year, there’s a surprise or two.
This is an event for any adult who enjoys being around energetic, thoughtful, and like-minded Christians, who wants to get away for a few days. Register now for this year’s Fall Faith Festival (FFF) so that you, too, can join us at Tuscarora Inn, Mt. Bethel, PA to discover the lessons of the El Camino.
