Season of Prayer IV Week Three

As Christians, we find ourselves in different places on our journey with God.
Some are rejoicing in how far God has brought them, or in how God has come to
them. Some are quite discouraged, feeling a sense of loss and loneliness.
Others are lost this very moment, trying to find their way.

As a community of faith, we believe that Christ claims us, and that we are invited
to claim him. We believe that God enters into relationship with his people, and that
we are invited to converse with him. Therefore, we come again to a Season of
Prayer, believing that conversation with God makes a difference in our own

Scriptures, songs, and prayers will be provided to you in this six-week Season of
Prayer.  And as you read them, engage deeply with God, expecting and allowing
the Holy Spirit to transform us to be more and more in line with God's thoughts
and ways.

"Incline your ear in God's direction; and he will speak every time."-Rev.

1 TIMOTHY 6:17-19 (NLT)
Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded."

ACTS 20:35 (NLT)
And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.

Give freely and become more wealthy;
    be stingy and lose everything.

LUKE 6:38 (NLT)
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.

We give Thee but Thine own,
Whate'er the gift may be;
All that we have is Thine alone,
A trust, O Lord, from Thee.

May we Thy bounties thus
As stewards true receive,
And gladly, as Thou blessest us,
To Thee our firstfruits give.

O hearts are bruised and dead,
And homes are bare and cold,
And lambs for whom the Shepherd bled
Are straying from the fold.

To comfort and to bless,
To find a balm for woe,
To tend the lone and fatherless
Is angels' work below.

The captive to release,
To God the lost to bring,
To teach the way of life and peace-
It is a Christ-like thing.

And we believe Thy Word,
Though dim our faith may be;
Whate'er for Thine we do, O Lord,
We do it unto Thee.

Lord of all good, our gifts we bring You now;
Use them Your holy purpose to fulfill.
Tokens of love and pledges they shall be
That our whole life is offered to Your will.

We give our minds to understand Your ways;
Hands, voices, eyes to serve Your great design;
Hearts with the flame of your own love ablaze:
Thus for Your glory all our pow'rs combine.

Father, whose bounty all creation shows;
Christ, by whose willing sacrifice we live;
Spirit, from whom all life in fullness flows:
To You with grateful hearts ourselves we give.
