immutable and unchangeable nature of god

Immutable may not be the first attribute of God we think of, but certainly a characteristic of God that enables us to trust Him. The immutable nature of God enables us to rely on His promises. Because of God’s unchanging nature, we can depend on Him to always be just, loving, merciful, holy, righteous, omnipresent, omnipotent, our Almighty God and this will never weaken or change—how awesome!

PSALM 33:11
“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”

“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our Lord endures forever.”

“I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.”

PSALM 102: 25-28
All that God is, He has always been. All that He has been and is, He will ever be. He is ever perfect and unchanging.

Unchanging Lord, I praise and worship you for your love and faithfulness that extend from one generation to the next.  Thank you for this reminder that although our circumstances may change and the things around us pass away, you remain the same forever.  Help me to find my security in your eternal sameness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SONG: The Lord Our God

The Lord our God is ever faithful
Never changing through the ages
From this darkness
You will lead us
And forever we will say
You're the Lord our God

Promise maker, promise keeper
You finish what You begin
Our provision through the desert
You see it through ‘til the end
You see it through ‘til the end

I Believe

In the silence, in the waiting
Still we can know You are good
All Your plans are for Your glory
Yes, we can know You are good
Yes, we can know You are good

We won't move without You
We won't move without You
You're the light of all
And all that we need

HYMN: Great is thy Faithfulness

Great is thy Faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with thee;
Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever will be.

Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand hath provided;
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain
