GIVING FAQs

WHAT IS THE GIVING STATEMENT?

The church sends giving statements several times a year or on request to all donors who have made a gift or a pledge to First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem during that calendar year. Statements are sent for donor review and information.

IF I MAKE A GIFT OF STOCK, WILL IT BE INCLUDED ON MY GIVING STATEMENT?

Yes. The Finance Office will also send you a personal letter stating the number of shares received, the date the shares were transferred, and the value of the stock transferred to the church’s account.

WHAT CAN I DO TO ENSURE THAT MY GIFTS ARE DIRECTED TO THE PROPER FUND?

We are committed to directing gifts in the way that our donors intend, so we always appreciate clear directions to ensure we get it right. If you want your gift directed to a specific fund or program, please note that on the memo line of your check or in an accompanying note. Gifts without accompanying directions are applied to the general operating fund. Please make your checks payable to First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem.

You can also set up one-time or recurring gifts online to the funds you choose using our online giving system. For further assistance, please contact Sue Knarr in the Finance Office at 610-317-6162, ext. 211.

LAST YEAR I PAID MY PLEDGE ONLINE AUTOMATICALLY, WILL THAT CONTINUE THIS YEAR?

Automatic gift payments do not carry over from year to year without express written

directions from the donor in the way of a pledge card or email. You must complete a new pledge card annually. Doing so tells the church that you are once more committing your offering to God while letting us serve your wishes.

CAN I FULFILL MY PLEDGE USING ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER (EFT)?

Yes. You need to complete the EFT form included with your annual pledge packet or the online pledge form.

WHOM CAN I CONTACT FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION?
