Dr. Charles Wiley III, Director of the Office of Theology and Worship on January 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the FPCB Sanctuary on the theology of the PCUSA: “Salvation through Jesus Christ--Theological Drift from the Reformed Tradition"
Charles Wiley was born in Surinam, South America as the son of Pilgrim Holiness missionaries. Charles’ movement toward the Reformed side of the Church began when he entered Davidson College. Charles graduated from Davidson College, Duke University Divinity School (M.Div.), and Princeton Theological Seminary (Ph.D.). In between he served as a staff member for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. A member of New Hope Presbytery, Charles serves as Coordinator of the Office of Theology and Worship in the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Charles is especially interested in how the church confesses its faith in Jesus Christ, is formed as a faithful community in post-Christendom North American culture, and how Christians faithfully engages in interfaith issues. Charles is married to Betsy Wiley. They have two children Ben (22) and Anna (19).
