YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO JOIN US for what has become one of the most beloved parts of celebrating Christmas at The First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem —CHRISTMAS WITH THE PHILADELPHIA BRASS AND THE CHANCEL CHOIR—on Sunday, December 20 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Philadelphia Brass will play virtuosic arrangements of beloved Christmas Carols, including an arrangement for brass and organ of “O Holy Night”. Korean tenor Yungbae Yang will sing “Every Valley” from Handel’s MESSIAH, followed by The Choir singing “And the Glory of the Lord”. There is a wonderful setting of Mary’s song, THE MAGNIFICAT, with music by Herbert Howells, written for Saint Paul’s Cathedral in London—our Choir sings it beautifully! Other carols include Michael Head’s “The little road to Bethlehem”, Mack Wilberg’s “Ding! Dong! Merrily on High” and Peter Wishart’s “Alleluya! A New Work is Come on Hand”. The audience is invited to sing carols with Choirs and Brass. The concert is free, tickets are not required, and an offering will be received. We offer you ninety minutes of peace and beauty; time to contemplate the wonder and mystery of these happy and holy days; time to rest from shopping, decorating and baking; time to remember that “Christ the Babe was born for you!” Don’t miss it—and please invite your family, friends, neighbors and colleagues—share with them this sacred message and gift of peace and beauty.
