Giving Tree

The Annual Giving Tree is coming to Fellowship Hall November 19. 2017

As the season of giving approaches, please include a child or adult from the community on your gift list. Over the past several years, the FPCB Bethlehem family has helped to make Christmas brighter for many men, women, and children in the Lehigh Valley through our annual Giving Tree. Many of the Valley’s neediest people experienced the love of God through your generous and beautifully wrapped gifts. Your generosity is needed now more than ever. Beginning Sunday, November 19, come to the Giving Tree after worship service to select a paper ornament. The ornament will contain the name, age, gender and gift suggestions for participants provided by various community organizations in the Lehigh Valley. This year, we have also added several tags for families and children who lost everything in Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria and have now moved to Bethlehem to be with family. A detailed, easy-to-follow instruction sheet will be available at the Tree. All gifts should be wrapped and brought to the church on Sunday, December 17.  Thank you for sharing the joy of Christmas.

Back to the Beginning: Romans and The Reformation Bible Study

Of the 66 documents that constitute the biblical canon, few are as weighty as Paul's letter to the Romans. It may rightly be regarded as his magnum opus. In it Paul sets forth the essence of the Christian "good news"-the gospel of Jesus Christ. Luther's wrestling with the book of Romans launched the Protestant Reformation in 1517. Its status and significance in Christian history and among the books of the Bible are our reason for studying this letter as we mark the 500th birthday of the Reformation.

This weekly study is held in Room 178.

Both meet on the second Monday of every month from 7- 8:30 pm, and all women are invited to attend.  The study will guide participants toward a way out of inauthentic, superficial spirituality to genuine freedom in Christ. This study is for every woman who thinks, "I can't keep pretending everything is fine!" and who wants to discover the path to emotional health. For more information, contact Linda.
