Back to the Beginning: Romans and The Reformation Bible Study

Of the 66 documents that constitute the biblical canon, few are as weighty as Paul's letter to the Romans. It may rightly be regarded as his magnum opus. In it Paul sets forth the essence of the Christian "good news"-the gospel of Jesus Christ. Luther's wrestling with the book of Romans launched the Protestant Reformation in 1517. Its status and significance in Christian history and among the books of the Bible are our reason for studying this letter as we mark the 500th birthday of the Reformation.

This weekly study is held in Room 178.

JOY Movie and Pizza Night

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2018, 6 p.m. at FPCB—$5 per person

Plan to join us in Fellowship Hall to enjoy a meal of delicious pizza (plain and

pepperoni) and our traditional dessert of Dove ice cream bars. Popcorn and cold beverages will be available as we share a time of fellowship prior to the arrival of the pizza. The movie for the evening will be “The Case for Christ.” It is the story of Lee Stroble, who claimed to be an atheist, and how through his attempt to validate his point of view, was persuaded to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Please invite your adult neighbors and friends to come and enjoy this evening with you. Discussion following the movie will be led by Pastors Marnie and Mark Crumpler. Register and pay at the JOY booth in Fellowship Hall from 9:30 and 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings, or mail your check to FPCB with your completed registration form on page three of the Joy Newsletter. Click here to download the JOY Newsletter.

The registration deadline for this event is Sunday, February 4, 2018. MOVIE AND PIZZA NIGHT—FEBRUARY 9
