Emotional Wellness Ministry

Mission: Minister to those impacted by emotional health issues within a faith perspective.

Purposes:
- Educate, consult with pastoral staff, normalize, destigmatize, and provide educational experiences and opportunities regarding emotional health issues.
- Embrace those impacted by emotional health issues with a safe and caring environment.
- Encourage and support people, through support groups and existing ministries, such as Stephen Ministry, Overcomers Outreach, Hope and Healing for Divorce Recovery, Bible studies and conferences (e.g. Beauty for Ashes), Hospice, and through a resource network that connects people to various types of support.

Right now people are struggling and hurting with issues such as depression, anxiety, addictions, attention problems and parenting concerns. The Emotional Wellness Ministry hopes to create a safe and caring environment in the church, with well qualified Christian people providing confidential services and resources.

Resource Network:
A network has been created, which currently includes licensed professional counselors, licensed social workers, school psychologists, school counselors, community providers of mental health services for adults, children and families, a psychiatric nurse, a parish Nurse, and the facilitator of the Prayer and Share Together support group. Additional  providers are encouraged to contact team members if they would like to become part of the network team.

People in the church may access this support network in one of two ways:

1. Through a referral contact or counseling with a pastor
